Carin Leon’s success story could be said to have begun in 2010 when he became a founding member and singer-songwriter for Gruop Arranke. This band was a success story that managed to make it big on the charts both in Mexico and the US. Shortly after  he began his career as a solo artist while working alongside Grupo Arranke.

The band’s first big hit A Traves del Vaso,” hit about a dozen Latin charts in 2017. The song has gone on to become popular enough to be covered by several other bands since. Then Leon delivered four solo albums: Desvelada con Banda y Mariachi, A Puro Pelo, Pa Las de Vidrio and Amanecida con Todo y con Todos. These songs were close to his work with Grupo Arranke, but things were beginning to change.

In 2019, Leon released El Malo, which had several popular singles. But none were as popular as “Me La Avente,” The album saw airplay across Mexico and the Southwestern parts of the US because it melded Mexican regional music including polka and banda as well as mariachi, and ranchera, sometimes within the same song. It used traditional music filled with strings, horns, accordions that resonated with older fans, while having a stylistic difference that appealed to the younger generation of latin music listeners.
